A fifteenth minute goal from Michael Collins put Town's second-string into the lead at the Marston's Stadium on Wednesday night, but a late first-half equaliser from ex-Bolton centre-back Bruno N'Gotty ensured that this Pontin's Holidays fixture finished as a draw.

John Dungworth's Reserve side performed well throughout the game and Irish midfielder Collins took his goal well on the quarter-hour mark; picking up a loose ball in midfield before playing a one-two with James Berrett and looping the ball over 'keeper Paul Henderson's head.

Town pushed hard for a second goal thereafter; first Collins was denied by the Australian 'keeper from a great diving header before Matthew Young - playing as a striker on the evening - saw his shot parried away minutes later.

Leicester drew level five minutes before the break when N'Gotty firmly met a corner from Jonathan Hayes to beat 'keeper Alex Smithies.

Other than the impressive performance on the night, the good news for Town was that returning injury victims Robbie Williams, Jon Worthington, Tom Clarke and Aaron Hardy came through the game unscathed.

"Getting the players who are recovering from injury 90 minutes on the pitch was the main aim of the game for us," First-Team Manager Andy Ritchie explained to us, having been in attendance at the game.

"We played some very good football in the first-half but we didn't quite come out with the same impetus in the second.

"Michael Collins took his goal very well and played well in general; it's going to be good for me to have him, along with the four lads returning from injury in this game, pushing for a first-team start in the near future."
