It was a miserable afternoon at the Galpharm as Town slumped to a 3-0 defeat to Brighton. Jake Robinson was the hat-trick hero for the visitors and the misery was further compounded by the sending-off of Danny Adams.
Matthew Young had Town's first effort within three minutes after a neat touch from Luke Beckett played the wingman down the right. Cutting inside he fired a left-footed effort which was blocked in the area by the covering Dean Hammond.
A minute later and John McCombe should have put the Terriers in front. The central defender found himself unmarked in the area but, with his back to goal, hooked Martin McIntosh's downward header wide of the mark.
The visitors had a good opportunity to open the scoring on 9 minutes when skipper Hammond forged into the area and threaded the ball past Glennon but none of the Brighton forwards gambled on the ball getting past the Town stopper.
Glennon made a brilliant save on 17 minutes when Brighton striker Revell was played in behind the Town defence by Cox and found himself one-on-one with the keeper. The assistant linesman kept his flag down much to the displeasure of the Terriers' defence but the Town stopper made a brilliant save diving at the striker's feet.
Glennon was called into action moments later when he easily saved Cox's effort from outside the area.
But Town did find themselves a goal down on 22 minutes. Hammond picked up a bad clearance and played Cox down the left with his first touch. The winger crossed for strike-partner Robinson and unmarked at the far post he planted his header low past Glennon.
Goalscorer Robinson was involved on 26 minutes when he received a yellow card for playing the ball after the whistle.
Jon Worthington had the next effort for Town but this time saw his effort blocked on the edge of the area by referee Swarbrick
Brighton doubled their lead on the half hour mark when the same combination resulted in a second goal for Robinson. This time Cox easily curled the ball to the far post for an unmarked Robinson to volley past the unprotected Glennon with the inside of his foot.
On 33 minutes Hardy was booked for a late challenge on Mayo.
Danny Schofield was inches away from pulling one back with ten minutes of the half remaining when he collected Pav's lay-off in the area and hit a low, vicious right-footed effort which flashed the wrong side of keeper Henderson's left hand post.

Robinson completed his hat-trick with a stunning strike on 50 minutes. He picked the ball up just outside the Town area, carried the ball goalward and rifled in a well-placed strike from a tight angle which left Glennon with no chance.
Just before the hour Michael Collins tried to lift the Town spirits after good play down the right by Young, with a long-range effort which was only just wide.
Jacko made a double change on 63 minutes replacing Schofield with Booth and Young with Brandon.
