A highly promising goalkeeper who has been capped for England at under-17 level, Alex seems destined to become a success at Town. Now in the final year of his scholarship, he has a great command of his box and is very capable in all aspects of goalkeeping; shot-stopping, catching and kicking.

Daniel Codman

Nationality: English

Height: 6' 1"

Weight: 10st 13lbs

Position: Defender

Equally at home at left-back or in the centre of defence, Daniel has been with the Academy since the age of eight and is now in the final year of his scholarship. Good in the air and in the tackle, he has already played for the Reserves and will be looking to cement a place in John Dungworth's side this season.

Leigh Franks

Height: 5' 10"

Weight: 12st

Position: Defender

A first year scholar who joined the Academy from Bridlington Town in the summer, Leigh is a big strong defender who looks ideal for the centre-back role. Also listing the Scarborough Centre of Excellence as a former club, he is also a very good golfer.

Spencer Harris

Nationality: English

Height: 5' 9"

Weight: 11st

Position: Defender

Another first-year scholar who made a few appearances for the under-18s last season, Spencer is a very good defender. Generally playing centre-back, he is a very strong tackler as well as being commanding in the air. Add to this an excellent reading of the game and his general athletic ability and big things are hoped of Spencer.

Jack Hunt

Position: Defender

Jack joined the Academy at under-9 level and is now in the first year of his two-year scholarship. This versatile player can play on the right of either defence or midfield, where he can showcase his general all-round athleticism. Very strong in the defensive aspects of the game.

Tom Jackson

Height: 5' 8"

Weight: 11st 5lbs

Position: Defender

A predominantly left-sided player, Tom has great versatility and can play in defence, midfield or attack. He is now in the final year of his scholarship and has good pace, as well as the ability to produce an excellent cross from the wing. Expect him to feature in the Reserves this season.

Shane Killock

Height: 6'

Weight: 12st 4lbs

Position: Defender

A second-year scholar who rejoined the Academy at the start of last year from non-League Ossett Albion, Shane was originally released from the club only to force his way back into Town's thoughts after a string of impressive displays for the Northern Premier League side. A big, strong defender who has already played for the Reserve side at Town.

David Pickering

Nationality: English

Height: 5' 7"

Weight: 10st 2lbs

Position: Defender

Predominantly a right-back, Dave possesses tremendous pace as well as immense bravery. He also has a great range of passing and a good cross. Only in the first year of his scholarship, he played for the under-18s a few times last season and should be right at home in the FA Premier Academy League this season.

Liam Ridehalgh

Position: Defender

A first-year scholar with a great left foot, Liam joined Town's Academy at under-12 level. A very athletic player with great ability when it comes to passing, he is also very strong in defence. Liam generally plays at left-back but he is versatile enough to play in various other positions.

Stephen Brook

Height: 5' 9"

Position: Midfielder

Another extremely versatile player who can be deployed on the right-side of defence or midfield as well as in centre mid, Stephen is a first-year scholar who joined the Academy as an eight-year old. Possessing good pace and a great passing range, hopes are high for his future.

Lewis Collinson

Position: Midfielder

A central midfielder who joined Town at under-9 level, the instantly recognizable Lewis can play either the holding or the more advanced role in the under-18 engine room. Passing is the strength of his game, which brilliant vision and the ability to back it up. Currently in the first year of his scholarship.

Luke Durham

Height: 5' 8"

Weight: 10st 2lbs

Position: Midfielder

Selby-born Luke joined Town at under-12 level after being spotted in the development centre. A right-winger by trade, he combines lightning pace with excellent crossing ability to create numerous chances for his teammates. Currently in the first year of his scholarship.

Lewis Nightingale

Height: 5' 7"

Weight: 9st 4lbs

Position: Midfielder

Currently in the initial year of his two-year scholarship, Lewis is one of the most technically gifted players in the Academy. He has brilliant vision on the pitch, with great knowledge of what is around him and the passing ability to back it up. Lewis generally operates in the centre of midfield.

Curtis Roberts

Nationality: English

Height: 5' 7"

Weight: 11st 4lbs

Position: Midfielder

Curtis joined the Academy at under-15 level after impressing whilst playing for the Huddersfield Schools side and he has added his tremendous versatility to the Academy sides ever since. He is most at home on the right of defence or midfield, where he can utilize his tremendous pace to good effect. He is in the final year of his scholarship.

Luke Williams

Position: Midfielder

Originally from Dodsworth in the Barnsley area, Luke joined the Academy at under-15 level along with teammate Danny Barlow. He normally plays in the centre of midfield where he is not shy of putting in a few tough challenges to break up the opposition play and he is definitely a fan of the physical side of the game.

Danny Barlow

Position: Striker

Striker Danny joined the Town Academy at under-15 level along with fellow first-year scholar Luke Williams after being spotted playing in the Dodsworth area of Barnsley. Very composed in front of goal, Danny is currently in the first year of his scholarship.

Daniel Broadbent

Nationality: English (capped at schoolboy level)

Position: Striker

Currently in the final year of his scholarship, Danny has previously been capped for England at under-16 level. Playing predominantly as a striker but equally able to play on the right-wing, Danny is both quick and strong with a keen eye for a goal and he is likely to be one of Town's top scorers this coming season.

David Heagney

Position: Striker

Qualifying for Ireland through his grandparents, Dave joined the Town Academy as a 12-year old and has now been capped for his country up to under-16 level. He played for the under-18 team on a few occasions last season but this is the first year of his two-year scholarship.

Chris Pert

Position: Striker

A tall striker who is a very composed finisher, Chris joined the Town Academy at under-11 level and is currently in the first year of his scholarship. He possesses great technique and will be looking to establish himself in the under-18 lineup this season.

Oliver Templeton

Nationality: English

Height: 5' 8"

Weight: 11st 6lbs

Position: Striker

Oliver is a striker who showed great promise at under-15 level but has been dogged by persistent injury issues ever since. Initially taking the first-year of his scholarship last term, he was forced to withdraw due to a knee problem but he is now back to undertake his two-year scholarship and the Academy staff are hopeful that his injury woes are behind him.
